'Lust,' 'tension' and 'pretty girls' are the main ingredients for the band's new style

After presenting their audience with songs which really did bring home a message (let's take a second to think about “Working Class Hero” and the successful collaboration with U2, “The Saints Are Coming”), it now seems that Green Day decided to go rogue in terms of their usual style and switch to plot-less, message-less songs and videos.

Their “Oh Love” video, which premiered on MTV just yesterday, centers around pretty girls and partying. Apparently, the band just wanted to get back to basics and get a feel of what they've been missing out on whilst focusing on other aspects of their careers.

Green Day fans are now debating whether or not this new video owns up to what the band supposedly stands for.

Thus, some state that true Green Day admirers need not bother to judge the song based on how many gorgeous models happen to be in the video, and others argue that they expected the band to bring forth something “deeper” than just girls and partying.

You will most likely reach a conclusion of your own after watching the video.
