It is no news that great white sharks are some of the world's most efficient predators, yet this video details exactly why it is that this should be so.

Thus, as explained by marine biologists, great whites have excellent eyesight and a sense of smell which trumps that of most other animals.

Interestingly enough, it seems that seals, which constitute the great white shark's favorite prey, also have some effective defense mechanisms in place which sometimes help them escape the attacks.

More precisely, as shown in this video, some great whites have scars around their eyes, as a result of seals biting into them.

Seeing how great white sharks are presently a species threatened with extinction, we hope that this video will help raise some awareness with respect to how amazing these animals are and why their ceasing to exist would be such a loss for our planet's biodiversity.
