14 DAY TRIAL // Judging by this video, geese are vicious, terrifying and blood-thirsty birds. Otherwise there is no way of explaining why a full grown gorilla would back away in quite a rush after just one mother goose darts in its direction.
The video was recently shot at the Sedgewick County Zoo in Wichita, Kansas. The staff working at this animal sanctuary suspect that the bird has nested inside the gorilla's enclosure.
Thus, its attack on the gorilla was no more and no less than an attempt to keep its offspring out of harm's way.
Given the goose's sheer determination to protect its nest, one can only suspect that Barney, as this gorilla is named, will just have to find some better things to do than walk around this part of its enclosure until the baby geese all hatch and learn to fly away.
