Looking to make sure the footage does not get released, the bear tries to eat the camera

It would appear that grizzly bears are very private individuals, hence the fact that they seldom take lightly to being filmed, especially without their knowledge.

The video above made it online just a few days ago, on March 20, and it has already scored over half a million views on YouTube.

According to the video's description, the footage was obtained by a family who was merely “enjoying a day frolicking on the river” at the time when the grizzly bear saw fit to make an appearance and crash their party.

“Oh year, but they're Alaskan Grizzlies, and the picnic is not what you'd expect,” the description further reads. From where I stand, saying that the picnic did not go as planned is a bit of an understatement.

At first, the grizzly bear featured in this video remains oblivious to the fact that it is being stalked by a GoPro camera.

However, once it figures out that its antics are being filmed, it tries to make sure that the footage never reaches the public by hitting the camera with its paws and even biting it.

Luckily for us, and especially for those who are particularly curious about what the inside of a grizzly bear's mouth looks like, the camera lives to tell – and show – the tale of its encounter with this predator.
