Watch: Gamu Nhengu “Shake the Room” Official Video

Gamu Nhengu, who was eliminated off X Factor in 2010 despite public support and, as if that wasn’t enough, was threatened with deportation back to Zimbabwe, is back in the spotlight.

Check out her brand new video above, for a single called “Shake the Room.”

Unless you’re from the UK or a fan of X Factor UK, the name Gamu might not ring a bell. If it doesn’t, it probably will after you see the video.

The clip in itself isn’t much (as in, you can see it was done on a budget), but it’s striking for its very simplicity. It also allows for the entire focus to fall on Gamu’s distinctive voice.

“Shake the Room” is the first single off the album “A Love Like This,” and it explores a sound to which Gamu likes to refer as Nu: Vintage.
