Showtime's nine-part documentary “Years of Living Dangerously,” which tells the tale of climate change and its impact on the lives of thousands of people across the world, is scheduled to premiere this coming April 13.

However, the television network has been cool enough to let us get a better idea of what the series is all about by posting the first episode on YouTube. Mind you, the version leaked by Showtime is an edited one, but I for one think that it is still worth an hour of your time.

The video, which is available below, documents several climate-related stories. Thus, one gets to see Harrison Ford visiting Indonesia and witnessing firsthand how the destruction of peatlands and forests contributes to climate change.

American journalist Thomas Friedman also makes an appearance, and the video shows him trying to figure out whether or not climate change had anything to do with the civil war in Syria.

Interestingly enough, this edited version of the first episode of “Years of Living Dangerously” made it only just a few days after the release of a new IPCC (Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change) report saying that global warming and climate change are already affecting the natural world and human society.
