There is no reason why rich people should set aside their concerns about the need to protect the environment when going out to buy a new supercar.

In fact, the newly unveiled LaFerrari might just be the eco-friendly solution these people have long been looking for.

LaFerrari (which translates to TheFerrari) is a hybrid supercar which promises to take its driver from 0 to 124 mph (almost 200 km/h) in under 10 seconds. In case anyone was wondering, such performances come as a direct result of the car's being fitted with a 949-horsepower V-12 engine.

Still, it appears that not all that many people will get the chance to prove their commitment to safeguarding the natural world by purchasing this vehicle.

This is because only 499 LaFerraris will be made available to customers, each of them having a price tag of $1 million (roughly €0.76 million).
