A video of a farmer braving flames to protect his field is heartwarming and inspiring. Pictured in the clip above is Eric Howard of Weld County, Colorado.

As flames were quickly approaching, he jumped in his John Deere tractor and made one fearless run, plowing a line close to the fire. The blaze was brought on by a thunderstorm on Monday, July 8, and the hay was instantly ignited.

According to CBS Denver, Howard rescued more than half of the hay field on Monday. Only about 20 (8 hectares) to 30 acres (12 hectares) out of 80 acres (32 hectares) were scorched. He also stopped the wildfire from spreading beyond his land.

“It was probably an 80-acre (32-hectares) field. And it started quick and it burned fast,” Howard describes.
