You know how you / we are always saying that Hollywood has been showing a rather tedious lack of originality in recent years? The guys from Funny Or Die have put our words into video, to prove that, indeed, originality is a rare commodity these days.
The video below is called simply “Every 3D Movie Is the Same” and is meant to offer actual proof and an explanation for why some of the 3D releases of recent months might have seemed rather too familiar.
“The Avengers,” “Transformers,” “The Amazing Spider-Man,” “Underworld: Awakening,” “Men in Black III” or “Brave” all contain similar elements, particularly in action scenes, which are supposed to make them stand out in 3D.
The only complaint we could make about this video – as on the mark as it may be – is that it also includes movies that were actually released only in 2D.
“Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol,” “Battleship,” “Alvin and the Chipmunks: Chipwrecked” and footage from “G.I. Joe: Retaliation” (which is just now going through post-conversion) have not been shown in 3D.
