This week, Trend Micro has released the first episode of 2020, a web series that’s based on an ICSPA report titled Project 2020. The series is designed to show individuals and organizations what to expect in the next decade from the advancements in mobile and cloud technology.

The first episode, titled “Switched Off,” shows the impact of a large-scale cyberattack on a society that depends almost entirely on technology. The action takes place in the Republic of South Sylvania, a middle income, emerging market.

The country is a leader in mobile payment systems and a regional hub for innovation. In South Sylvania, almost everyone is connected to the cloud. This has a great influence on the way people interact, how they work, and how they perceive reality.

The second episode will be released on October 8. In the meantime, you can check out additional details regarding the story and the Republic of South Sylvania on the 2020 website.
