Just in case anyone needed further proof that elephants are intelligent creatures, here's a video of an elephant dealing with a very annoying itch on its forehead in a rather ingenious way.

Long story short, the elephant grabs hold of a broom and uses it to give itself a much-needed scratch.

Seeing how the zoo keeper willingly lets go of the broom and doesn't seem in the least surprised by the elephant's behavior, I'm guessing this isn't the first time when the pachyderm does something like this.

Hence the fact that it knows exactly how to hold the broom to give itself the best scratch ever.

Huffington Post tells us that this video was shot at the Fort Worth Zoo in Texas only a few days ago. The elephant calf that's also featured in it is named Bowie. It was born at this animal sanctuary only a few weeks ago.
