14 DAY TRIAL // There's a new viral video in town, and be warned, this one is not for the faint of heart. The footage, available below, shows a man performing a C-section on a dead shark and delivering 3 seemingly healthy pups.
It is understood that this video was shot not too long ago on a beach in the city of Cape Town in South Africa. The footage has so far been viewed over 1,500,000 times and keeps growing in popularity.
Word has it that the shark mom was found lying on the ground by a group of beachgoers. At the time it was discovered, it was already dead. However, its belly was moving.
The beachgoers realized that the shark was pregnant and did their best to save its offspring. Thus, using a knife, a man got its tummy open and freed the 3 pups struggling inside the dead animal.
Needless to say, these baby sharks would have surely died in a very short while, had the beachgoers not taken pity on them and had they not delivered them.
After pulling the young sharks from their mother's corpse, the beachgoer carried them to the water and released them. As was to be expected, the pups immediately swam away.
Wildlife researchers say that, since shark pups swim away from their mom right after birth, these young ones have high chances to survive on their own in the wild and grow up to become apex predators.
