Watch Dogs, the open-world video game from Ubisoft, continues to stay at the top of the United Kingdom video game chart for the week that ended on June 26, showing the next-gen title has the ability to keep gamers occupied in the long term.

The developers have recently launched some new content for the title, and more might be set to come in the coming weeks, but Watch Dogs has managed to mainly profit from the lack of big launches that characterizes the end of June and most of July.

Ubisoft has already explained that the game was one of the most successful of the last year and that it is already exploring a number of options for a sequel, which will keep the main mechanics and will introduce changes based on feedback from the player community.

FIFA 14, the football sim from EA Sports, also keeps a tight hold over second place, a great performance considering that the title was first launched in late September of last year.

The studio is still delivering updates to the all-important Ultimate Team mode, which might be one explanation for its popularity.

The last position on the podium is occupied by the Xbox 360 version of Minecraft from Mojang, which has managed to climb up three positions from sixth this week, according to data offered by UKIE.

The indie hit shows no sign of slowing down in the long term, and the developers plan to soon launch versions for both the Xbox One and the PlayStation 4.

Sniper Elite 3, from developer Rebellion and publisher 505 Games, has also managed to gain one position to fourth, and fans will soon be able to rescue Churchill from a Nazi attack in new downloadable content.

The LEGO Movie Video Game has made a solid re-entry into the top ten in order to land in fifth place for the week, and it’s followed by the PlayStation 3 version of Minecraft.

Grand Theft Auto V is another older title which is making a comeback this summer and lands in seventh place, while Titanfall continues to hold down number eight as gamers wait for the launch of the second DLC pack for the shooter.

Call of Duty: Ghosts, from Infinity Ward and Activision, has slid from third to ninth, while Battlefield 4, created by DICE and published by Electronic Arts, closes down the United Kingdom top ten.
