Watch Dogs, the open-world hacking-themed experience from Ubisoft, has managed to regain the number one position in the video game sales chart compiled for the United Kingdom, after a two week period when it lagged behind Sniper Elite 3.

The game that focuses on Aiden Pearce and on his quest for revenge has recently received downloadable content that was initially reserved for those who pre-order the experience, and the title continues to impress with the variety of activities that it is offering, even if the story has been criticized by a plenty of those who have played it.

Sniper Elite 3, which was developed by Rebellion and published by 505 Games, has dropped one position, according to the data coming from UKIE, and is currently in second, showing that a rather classic shooter based on long-range kills still has a lot of appeal for the gaming public.

The last place on the podium belongs to FIFA 14, the EA Sports-made football simulation, which needed just another 100 copies sold in order to reach the second place during the week that ended on July 12.

The popularity of the game has been recently boosted by the real life World Cup in Brazil, and it will be interesting to see how its sales react to the end of the competition, which was won by Germany, and to the fact that no more themed Ultimate Team packages are being launched.

Wolfenstein: The New Order, developed by Machine Games and published by Bethesda, continues to perform well in the United Kingdom and sits in fourth place, climbing one spot when compared to the previous week and exchanging places with Titanfall, a shooter from Respawn Entertainment and Electronic Arts that focuses exclusively on multiplayer.

Call of Duty: Ghosts, from Infinity Ward and Activision, seems glued to sixth place just as gamers start to look forward to the launch of the futuristic and innovative Advanced Warfare, which should be available on November 4.

The Xbox 360 version of the indie hit Minecraft managed to post a serious increase in its own sales in order to reach seventh place and jump over its PlayStation 3 cousin, which has also managed to go up one place and landed on number eight.

Tomodachi Life, the 3DS title from Nintendo, is in ninth place, re-entering the top ten after one week, and the United Kingdom chart is closed down by Battlefield 4, the shooter created by DICE and published by Electronic Arts that will soon get the Dragon’s Teeth expansion.
