Players who get defeated in online hacking or tailing lose everything

Watch Dogs PC and Xbox One owners have begun reporting the existence of a game-breaking bug in the title on the two platforms, which erases their progress and practically leaves them in a virtual limbo, not being able to access their guns, skills, outfits, and other such things.

Watch Dogs prides itself on the seamless single-player and multiplayer experience, but it seems that those who got their hands on early copies of the game have encountered at least one major issue with it.

More specifically, users on PC and Xbox One have reported on the official forums a bug that erases their progress in the game.

Apparently, this glitch appeared when players were defeated in the online hacking or online tailing multiplayer experiences. Normally, if the player is killed, he is taken back to his own virtual version of Chicago, with all the abilities, guns, and skills he unlocked.

Because of the bug, their unlocked items are gone and things like guns can't even be repurchased from stores.

As of yet, Ubisoft hasn't commented on this major problem on its forums, so it's probably for the best to avoid going online just yet, in order to avoid experiencing such issues and glitches.
