A few more details about the six multiplayer modes in Watch Dogs have appeared online, this time with a few descriptions of the different online experiences that are possible in the new open world title from Ubisoft.

Watch Dogs is set to deliver a great action adventure experience, putting players in the shoes of Aiden Pearce, a hacker who tries to exact revenge upon his enemies in a high-tech version of Chicago that's controlled by a main operating system called CtOS.

Ubisoft has already revealed that an online mode will see players infiltrate the sessions of other people and try to hack their phones, but now way more details have appeared online, via GameZone.

First up, there are six different online modes in Watch Dogs, and each can be accessed via the in-game smartphone, which displays the single-player and the multiplayer maps. According to the website, most of these encounters happen in a closed off section of Chicago.

The first mode is Hacking, the already-known one, in which one player infiltrates the gameplay session of another and tries to hack his phone remotely. The hacker needs to remain out of sight but also in the range of the target, while the other player must find the intruder to stop the transmission.

A variation of this experience is another mode called Tailing, in which a player must stalk another Watch Dogs owner without raising suspicion. Such missions can be completed without even notifying the target of your actions.

There's also a Race mode, in which players gather to race against each other using cars found on the streets of Chicago.

Those who want to explore the city alongside friends can engage in an eight-player Free Roam mode, but apparently Ubisoft didn't demonstrate it at a recent preview event.

Those who want to work as a team can engage in the Decryption mode, in which two groups of players need to go up against each other in order to steal certain files and take them to a different location.

Last but not least, there's the CtOS Mobile Challenge mode, in which Watch Dogs owners on PC or consoles can interact with other random players or friends who use the companion application on their tablets.

The goal of the player is to drive through a number of different checkpoints, while avoiding various traps and ambushes set down by the other player. The tablet users have different advantages, as they can scroll around the Chicago map and easily deploy different tricks, like setting up blockers, burst pipes, or causing traffic jams. These traps have a cost, however, so they can't be spammed easily.

You can expect to hear more about the Watch Dogs multiplayer modes as we get closer to the game's release on May 27 for PC, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One. The Wii U edition is coming this fall.
