Blue might not be everybody's favorite color in the whole wide universe, but let's face it: there are few people in this world who aren't utterly and completely fascinated with the color of the ocean.

Hence, I expect that you will find the video below to your liking. It was shot in the waters off the coast of the island of Maui in Hawaii not too long ago, and made it online just a few days ago.

The footage shows a diver identified as Chris Cilfone swimming around with a shoal of giant manta rays, and I for one find it positively breathtaking. I can only hope that you too will love and adore it.

For those unaware, giant manta rays can be found swimming in tropical and subtropical waters. Some of these creatures can grow to measure as much as 9 meters (about 30 feet) in width, hence their name.

Presently, the International Union for Conservation of Nature considers this species to be a vulnerable one. This means that, unless efforts are made to protect them and their habitat, giant manta rays could one day become extinct.

According to wildlife researchers and environmental groups, the biggest threats to these creatures' long-term survival are unsustainable fishing practices.
