A group of pranksters have staged an elaborate gag involving a horrifying T-Rex costume to scare off passers-by in a park in Barrington, Rhode Island.

Even though everybody knows that dinosaurs went extinct 65 million years ago, people are still terrified of these wild creatures, as you can see in the video below.

New York based prankster Jay Lichtenberger and his friends at Pranks Channel created a fake dinosaur nest with eggs in it and placed it near a bike path in the park to grab people's attention. When curious passers-by got a little too close, an incredibly realistic T-Rex model jumps out of the bushes to protect her babies, making a loud roar and scaring the hell out of most people.

Dozens of unsuspecting walkers, joggers, or bikers got the shock of their lives when they were ambushed by the prehistoric creature. The first targets are two women walking their dogs, and they both start to scream when the T-Rex comes out of the bushes.

However, not everybody was fooled by the costume, as some keep walking calmly past the beast with a smile on their faces.

The Pranks Channel ran the same joke last year in the city of Newport, Rhode Island, with the clip becoming their most popular-to-date after gathering more than 1.7 million views.
