“It isn’t going to be pretty,” Michael C. Hall promises in voiceover

“Dexter,” aka Showtime’s hit series about a blood spatter analyst slash serial killer slash justiciary, aka one of my favorite TV series of all times, is getting ready for the final bow. Season 8 – officially its last – premieres this summer.

To promote it, Showtime has released a new teaser trailer, which, in keeping with the “Dexter” tradition, doesn’t show any footage from the upcoming episodes at all.

However, it’s still very chilling and effective, especially with Michael C. Hall promising in voiceover that “it isn’t going to be pretty” when the “neat monster” that he plays will be cornered.

“Dexter” returns on Showtime on June 30 at 9PM and, after this season, is off the air for good.

Will you miss Dexter or are you among those who think it was about time the show ended? Critics have long pointed out that it lost its edge and many fans agree with it.
