Onlookers plead the man to move away from the water's edge, he refuses to do so

There is a very good reason why the business of snapping pictures of wildlife is best left to professionals: animals can be fairly unpredictable, and odds are amateurs will get hurt while trying to catch them on camera.

In case anyone doubts the truth of my previous statement, check out the video above, which shows one man almost getting bitten by a crocodile.

Despite his friends' repeatedly asking him to move away from the water's edge, the wildlife “photographer” in this video stubbornly chooses to hold his ground. Until the crocodile moves for the kill, that is.

Hopefully, this experience will teach him a thing or two about the dangers of coming this close to wild animals.

The footage was shot in Costa Rica and was posted online this past March 23.
