Watch: Creating the Gorgeous Special Effects in “TRON: Legacy”

Say what you will about Disney’s “TRON: Legacy” and how it was disappointing on so many levels, but there’s no denying it was a stunningly beautiful film. Not only did it manage to bring to light a world like no other, but it also did so in the most convincing manner possible.

Bradley Munkowitz, aka GMUNK, worked on about 10 minutes of VFX-heavy scenes in the film and, to show the world just what it took to make said world real, he uploaded a series of videos on Vimeo.

GMUNK didn’t do any of the huge action scenes but rather the elements that made the entire film possible: the user interfaces and the holograms in the Grid.

The videos included in this post show some of his work, but they also play like gorgeous music videos. Enjoy!
