The president was giving an impassioned speech when he lost control of his bladder

It was a very bad day for Colombian president Juan Manuel Santos to be wearing beige pants at his re-election speech he gave out in the coastal city of Barranquilla as, in the middle of his speech he unknowingly lost control of his bladder and urinated on himself.

The wet spot could hardly have been contained by any piece of garment, but it was made more painfully evident by his light-colored pants which immediately changed color as they became darker in the crotch area.

The incredible thing is that the president continued his speech unperturbed, seemingly oblivious to the fact that he had just wetted himself in front of his constituency, as well as on national television.

It should be noted that Santos is not known to suffer from any illness that would explain his involuntary loss of his bladder control, a fact which would have probably made this accident seem less embarrassing.

But as it is, the president made a lasting impression on the people present at the rally when his wet patch just kept growing and growing as he talked and gestured frantically, trying to convince people to vote for him.

Santos was elected president in 2010 and has forged a name for himself as a peacemaker since, struggling to defuse the political crisis with the neighboring country of Venezuela, while at the same time tackling Colombia's own civil war issues.

Sadly, today he's making headlines for all the wrong reasons and none of them has anything to do with politics.
