Without gravity, there is no need for either a pillow or a mattress

By now, most people are all too familiar with Chris Hadfield's short videos showing how the simplest of tasks suddenly become significantly more entertaining when carried out in space.

The latest video is this series (i.e. the one made available to you above) shows the astronaut getting ready to go to sleep and get some much-needed rest while floating about in a zero gravity environment.

As Chris Hadfield explains, the first thing that he must do is put on his space jammies.

Once the astronaut is done with changing his clothes, he can head towards his sleeping pod, inside which he will find his sleeping bag securely tied to the wall.

Since there is no gravity, Chris Hadfield has no use for either a pillow or a mattress. Thus, all he needs to do is relax, float and sleep.
