Watch Cartoons and Play Games on Your iPad with Cartoon Network 2.0

The Cartoon Network app is now officially at version 2.0 in the App Store bringing the ability to watch video and play cool games from a single app.

Kids can now turn their device to flip between watching and playing and, on the iPad, there’s a cool split-screen mode that lets you do both at the same time. “The more you watch and play, the more DNA and energy you can earn to unlock awesome collectible cards of your favorite Cartoon Network characters,” according to everyone’s favorite cartoon hub.

Cartoon Network 2.0 is a free update to a free app that apparently only works in the United States. It’s a universal app that works on both iPhone and iPad with distinct resolutions and features on each device.

Specifically, the Cartoon Network app is compatible with iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPhone 4S, iPod touch (2nd generation), iPod touch (3rd generation), iPod touch (4th generation) and iPad and requires iOS 4.3 or later.
