Microsoft launched Skype video calling features for Outlook.com this A.M., but the company has also released a short video to show the new option in action.

Currently available in the United Kingdom exclusively, the new audio and video calling options provided via Skype are possible thanks to a browser plugin that can be installed by Internet Explorer, Firefox and Chrome users.

Basically, the new service requires users to link their Skype and Outlook.com accounts in order to manage a single contact database. Once one of your contacts sends you an email, you have the option to initiate an audio or a video Skype call straight from the browser.

In addition to the United Kingdom, both the United States and Germany are in the pipeline to get the new feature in the coming weeks, but more details will most likely be provided at a later date.
