According to this video, buying bottled water is the same as buying bottled air

For those unaware, this Saturday, March 22, marks World Water Day. This celebration has been around since 1993 and is intended to raise awareness about the need to protect and not overexploit the world's water resources.

Funnily enough, the video above, which was posted on YouTube back in October 2013, went viral just in time for this year's World Water Day. Hence, I could not pass up on the opportunity to share it with you guys.

The clip is the work of an Australian-based utility dubbed Yarra Valley Water, and it makes a case of how buying bottled water doesn't really make any sense, especially not when folks have tap water at their disposal.

Yarra Valley Water says that, in today's day and age, a bottle of water costs about as much as 6,000 glasses of tap water. What's more, the utility argues that, all things considered, buying bottled water is not all that different to spending money on canned fresh air.

Given the fact that few – if any, that is – would even dream of buying air, how is it that the bottled water industry is as successful as it its?
