The video below, which made it online only a couple of days ago, was undoubtedly pieced together by fossil fuel haters. Thus, this mock advertisement takes a swing at the global dirty energy industry, and does so quite brilliantly.
At first, the video appears to be promoting the use of a miracle drug dubbed “Petrolify.” The drug is said to have this amazing ability to make people feel energetic and ready to take on the world. Unfortunately, it comes with some very serious side effects.
As detailed in the video, these side effects include deforestation, oil spills, loss of water resources, birth defects, habitat loss, species extinction and many others. As you've probably figured out yourself, these side effects are all reasons why we should drop fossil fuels and embrace renewables.
In case anyone was wondering, this mock advertisement is the brainchild of the Post Carbon Institute, a US-based organization preoccupied with climate change, global warming, energy availability, and all sorts of other environmental issues.
