“Happy Tree Friends” are some of the sickest and most disturbing cartoons to have ever been created. Still, it looks like PETA is also quite gifted at putting together animated videos that are nothing if not likely to scare the bejeezus out of most people.

The video above was released just in time for this year's Thanksgiving, and tells the story of a little boy who follows some turkeys to a slaughter house and nearly gets killed. He is saved at the last minute, but, until then, he is maimed, drugged, scalded and electrocuted.

“While the boy in PETA's video escapes a grisly end, millions of turkeys this year won't be as fortunate,” says PETA Executive Vice President and mother Tracy Reiman.

“But we can give turkeys a reason to be thankful—all we have to do is choose delicious vegan meals for Thanksgiving and every day,” she adds.

In case you still haven't figured out yet, the video is intended to convince people not to eat turkey this Thanksgiving, maybe even become a vegan for life.

Viewer discretion is recommended when watching the video above as its content might upset sensitive audience.
