The sticks put up quite a fight, the panda bear eventually lets them be

That old piece of advice that one should never play with their food is something that the panda bear cub featured in the video below is utterly and completely unfamiliar with.

Hence its decision to attack three sticks of bamboo that were doing no more and no less than minding their own business sticking out of the ground.

As brainless as some might think them to be given the fact that they are, well, sticks, these pieces of bamboo appear to be quite gifted when it comes to putting up a fight.

Thus, not only do they hold their ground when the panda cub jumps them and tries to get them to forfeit, but they do it so well that the young bear eventually gives up on the entire endeavor.

According to Huffington Post, the footage was shot at the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding in Sichuan, China.

This facility is in the business of looking after panda bears and breeding them in captivity, and staff here hope that their efforts will help save this species from going extinct.

For those unaware, giant pandas are native to south central China. Conservationists estimate that just 1,500-3,000 such animals are left in the wild, and the International Union for Conservation of Nature considers the species to be an endangered one.
