Elephants are known to be very intelligent creatures, but odds are there are not all that many people who think that they are brainy enough to play sports. Beco, the baby elephant featured in the video below, is here to prove these people wrong.

Huffingon Post tells us that Beco was born about five years ago, on March 27, 2009. The tiny pachyderm presently lives at Columbus Zoo in the United States and, to celebrate its 5th birthday, caretakers saw fit to introduce it to a red ball.

The ball was set loose in a watering hole and it did not take Beco long to go chasing after it. As entertaining as playing water polo might be, the young elephant eventually gets bored of chasing the red ball around and instead tries to squash it.

The bad news is that the annoying red thing proves more resilient than Beco assumed it to be. Thus, it escapes from under the young elephant's feet on several occasions and proves anything but willing to surrender and pop.

After a few failed attempts to destroy the shiny red ball, Beco gives up on the endeavor and tries to act like it has better things to do than chase after some silly sphere that does not even have the courtesy to die on command.
