Apple’s ceremonious unveiling of OS X Yosemite and iOS 8 is now available to stream directly to your computer or mobile device via the Apple Events site. Watch Tim Cook & Co. unleash a plethora of new features and the first major redesign of OS X in years.

At today’s event, CEO Tim Cook and SVP of Software Engineering Craig Federighi introduced OS X Yosemite and iOS 8, announcing all-new features for both operating systems.

OS X got its first major redesign in years, an updated Notification Center featuring a Today view, widgets for Calendar, Weather, Stocks, Reminders, World Clock, and social networks, iCloud Drive, new Safari and Mail, and continuity features that “make your Mac and iOS device perfect companions.”

“Yosemite is the future of OS X with its incredible new design and amazing new apps, all engineered to work beautifully with iOS,” said Craig Federighi, Apple’s senior vice president of Software Engineering. “We engineer our platforms, services and devices together, so we are able to create a seamless experience for our users across all our products that is unparalleled in the industry. It’s something only Apple can deliver.”

iOS 8 is dubbed “the biggest release since the launch of the App Store” and packs new features like iCloud Photo Library, conversations in Messages, the Health app that gathers the information from your health apps and fitness devices, predictive typing for the new QuickType keyboard, Family Sharing, and iCloud Drive, to name the key additions.

Speaking of iOS 8, Federighi noted that it offers “simpler, faster and more intuitive ways to use your device,” adding that the company is also “giving developers amazing new tools to make managing [their] health and your home from [their] devices an integrated, simple and secure experience.”

At the WWDC opening keynote, Apple also announced a new programming language called Swift and released an updated version of Xcode for developers looking to create the next generation of iOS and OS X apps using new technologies.

Accompanying the new Xcode 6, the iOS 8 SDK is said to be the biggest release ever for developers, with over 4,000 new APIs, extensibility features like widgets and third-party keyboards, HealthKit and HomeKit frameworks, and Metal, a new graphics technology.

To stream the WWDC14 keynote, you will need Safari 4 or later on OS X v10.6 (Snow Leopard) or later, Safari on iOS 4.2 or later, or QuickTime 7 on any Windows PC. To stream the event on your Apple TV, you’ll need a second or third-generation set-top box with Software Update 5.0.2 or later installed.
