As reported, an asteroid known to scientists as 2012 DA14 is set to fly by our planet on February 15.

Given the fact that this asteroid flyby is a record setting one, it is no wonder that some people are a tad concerned about the possibility of their witnessing said space rock make an unexpected landing in their backyard.

Because of this, NASA has decided to piece together the video above, and make it available to the online community, so that everybody may see that the coming asteroid possess absolutely no threats to our wellbeing.

Despite the fact that, for the time being at least, the technologies we have at our disposal make it impossible for us to consider mining this space rock for all its $195 billion worth, the fact remains that the 2012 DA14's coming this close to our planet can help us learn more about asteroids.
