The new Yoga tablet commercial has a hidden meaning

Lenovo updated its tablet/convertible portfolio last week, adding an entire host of new products. But one slate in particular drew attention – the Yoga Tablet 2 Pro which was designed with input from Lenovo’s super star product engineer, Ashton Kutcher.

The tech giant already released a video detailing some of the modes of use exclusive to the tablet, like projecting on a wall or hanging the device while you’re busy fiddling with something else.

The Yoga Tablet 2 Pro is Kutcher's baby

But Lenovo has another video ad for us, this time guest starring the creator of the Yoga Tablet 2 Pro. The new video spot takes us through Kutcher’s daily routine and the tablet is there by its side helping him complete his tasks.

Before heading out to the set of his hit comedy show “Two and a Half Men,” Kutcher checks his schedule, while constantly fiddling with different apps like Secret, Product Hunt, Duolingo, Spotify and SoundCloud.

But there’s a double standard to the video, as the ad actually highlights Kutcher’s own investments in the tech industry. The actor has been known for his interest in the tech industry and the commercial basically shows us the extent of that.

Kutcher has invested in every single one of the apps we mentioned above, so it seems that there isn't a single aspect of the Yoga Tablet 2 Pro that the actor is not involved in.

Throughout the video, Kutcher outlines the versatility of the tablet by showing the multiple ways it can be used, including hang, hold, tilt and stand.

Lenovo's CEO also makes an appearance in the spot

The spot culminates with Kutcher having a video chat with Lenovo’s CEO Yang Yuanqing himself which has a certain humor to it.

The Yoga Tablet 2 Pro arrived a few days before Apple’s iPad event is expected to start, but Lenovo is apparently not very worried about that.

According to the company, the Yoga Tablet 2 Pro is unique among everything else offered on the market and is highly unlikely Apple will offer something similar.

The slate is of a larger variety coming in with a 13-inch display with 2560 x 1600 pixel resolution and draws its power from an Intel Atom Z3745 Bay Trail processor.

The device runs Android 4.4 KitKat out of the box and is expected to offer a life cycle of up to 15 hours on a single charge.

The new Yoga should go on sale soon with a price-tag of $500 / €393.
