New video details the threats associated with exporting coal

Greenpeace wholeheartedly opposes the coal industry, and not just because of the whopping amounts of air pollution that this energy source produces when burned.

On the contrary, these environmentalists aren't big fans of companies that are in the business of making a profit by exporting coal either, and they are anything but shy about letting others know what they think.

The video above made it online just yesterday, and it details six reasons why Greenpeace and its supporters want the coal export industry to be pulled the plug on without detail.

Not to beat about the bush, the six reasons why everybody should oppose coal exports are as follows: extraction, dust, lung disease, the ongoing climate crisis, ocean acidification, and the safety of communities located in the proximity of coal deposits.

Greenpeace members and their supporters argue that, even before it gets burned for energy, coal constitutes a threat to ecosystems and public health due to the fact that extracting it from the ground upsets the natural balance.

What's more, extracting coal and then transporting it more often than not causes dust to be released into the air, and it is this dust that the organization claims endangers public health.
