Do you enjoy going up into the mountains and gazing at the crystal clear sky, admiring the rich web of starts which is no longer visible in our polluted cities?

Greek photographer Konstantions Vasilakakos is probably one of the biggest starry night enthusiasts you’ll ever stumble upon.

And following his passion, he shot a breath-taking, mind-numbing 4K time-lapse depicting the wonderful infinities of the Milky Way.

What makes this particular video stand out from other similar time-lapses is that it offers users a sense of the enormity of the galaxy.

Since May 2014, Vasilakakos spent several months hiking in remote mountain locations, where light pollution does not taint the beautiful night sky.

To capture this breath-taking short video he used a Nikon D610 (with a Samyang 14mm f/2.8, Nikkor Af-S 50mm f/1.4 and Nikkor 70-200 f/2.8) which he used throughout long sessions of starry night staring.

When he captured enough frames, we made a timelapse out of it and added some nice, ambient chillout music on top of it to make everything complete. Sadly, most users don't own a 4K TV, so a lot of the effect is lost this way, but the video still remains worthy of your attention.

So open your browser, get comfy and let yourself float through the majesty of our galaxy. I bet you feel like an itsy, bitsy ant right now, don’t you?
