Wasteland 2 is one of the most awaited Kickstarter-funded games of the year and it seems that the entire story of the game can be experienced in about 20 hours and that the player will be able to visit between 40 and 50 full-fledged maps.

Wasteland2Guru cites information from a Russian magazine preview that explains that the team at inXile has made each map very different, with unique features and landmarks that gamers can explore and which will have a role in the story.

The number of maps is impressive considering that Fallout 2, the last title in the series based on distinct maps, only offered 23 of them.

Wasteland 2 will have a deep narrative that starts with a corpse being discovered and with a mysterious radio signal, which will become one of the major threads of the story.

The inXile team is also offering information on some of the factions that players will meet in the game:

- Mannerites are etiquette freaks who have Rangers and engage in cannibalism; - the Red Skorpions are a survival group that also hates the Rangers - the Gippers are worshipers of Ronald Reagan - the Wrecking Crew are raiders who suffer from delusions - Pistol Packing Priests love their weapons as much as they do their beliefs - the Children of the Citadel want to mix man and machine elements.

Wasteland 2 is a party-based tactics-driven title that will allow players to explore a post-apocalyptic world.

The team at inXile wants players to have choices when it comes to character development and the ultimate fate of the story.

It seems that the developers are looking to sell between 200,000 and 300,000 copies of Wasteland 2 in order to fund future development projects.

The team will deliver a beta version of the game in October and that’s the moment when an official release date will be announced.
