The development team at InXile announces that gamers can learn more about the core combat system included in the upcoming tactical role-playing game via a new video and that the physical versions of the game now have a clear timeline for shipping.

The footage is quite interesting because it explains that the coming title will encourage players to carefully tailor their party and their items loadout in order to tackle certain challenges.

InXile states, “General Vargas talks us through Wasteland 2's combat system and all that goes into it. Creating your character and party with the attribute and skill decisions that go into it. Fighting some high-level enemies the wrong way with the wrong party or the right way with the right party. Using environment to your advantage and even using your skills to gain extra allies on your side.”

The official Kickstarter update offers more details on the options that those who have not yet bought Wasteland 2 have to buy the game, including digital outlets like Steam and GOG and physical stores.

The studio adds, “By the time physical copies arrive to backers the gold master version we sent out for print will be a month and a half old, and will be missing vital optimization and balance passes, as well as systemic changes like the addition of headshots that we recently put in.”

A Steam-based update will be delivered on launch day in order to make sure that all players get the best possible game experience.

The development team at InXile has also worked with Valve in order to add a new Revoke Key button on the Ranger Center, which will allow gamers to deactivate the Steam key used to access the beta and then reset their digital retailer choice, meaning that gamers can choose another outlet for the final version of Wasteland 2.

At the moment, the studio does not have exact ship dates for the versions of the game which include extra bonus content, but manufacturing has already started for all of them and more details will be offered soon.

inXile is also ensuring international fans of the title that localization is progressing well and is beyond the stage suggested by the beta.

Wasteland 2 is set to launch on September 19 and is designed to allow gamers to create a character, recruit a team and then prowl a post-apocalyptic landscape, choosing how they want to deal with a variety of situations.
