It has just been announced that the Washington DC Technology Council and key business sponsors will organize a live forum with the leading DC Mayoral candidates in order to take notice of the candidates' views on "The Business of Technology in the District of Columbia." The forum will be held on Tuesday, June 27th, at the Jack Morton Auditorium located on the campus of The George Washington University.
"The Washington DC Technology Council is the leading voice of technology in the Nation's Capital. Our members who live and work in the District want to hear what each candidate has to say on how we can successfully keep DC economically competitive regionally, nationally and internationally," declared Penny Pickett, President of the Tech Council.
The forum, moderated by CNBC's Hampton Pearson, will debate topics ranging from taxation policies for 'just-opened' and early stage companies, to motivation to attract and preserve DC based companies, to plans for training and educating in order for all employees to benefit from others' technology know-how.
"As a sponsor of this event, we believe it is critical for the next mayor to help attract and retain technology companies and appreciate the economic value they bring to the region," said Michael Stanton, vice president at Blackboard, Inc. "By providing incentives to technology corporations to operate in our community, the mayor's office can help support the continued growth and prosperity of our technology community, and leading companies like Blackboard."
The forum is open to the public, but attendees must register, at no charge, with the Washington DC Technology Council at http://www.dctechcouncil.org.
