The new game fails to introduce any innovation to the genre

Warren Spector, the game designer best known for his work on Thief and Deus Ex, believes that the video game industry needs to evolve and create new experiences that don’t use old rule sets and genres.

Reacting to the reveal of the new Wolfenstein: New Order, he writes on Facebook, “Did we need a generically dark, monochromatic, FPS, kill-the-Nazi-giant-robot game?”

He adds, “And one more thing: Please stop using Jimi Hendrix to promote your adolescent male power fantasies.”

After the launch of the second Epic Mickey 2 title, the team at Junction Point that Warren Spector leaded has been disbanded.

The new Wolfenstein video game is designed to take place in an alternate reality where Nazis were the winners of World War II and will see B. J. B.J. Blazkowicz battle enemy hordes to stop their evil plans.
