Bad news if you already didn't like Gadot as Wonder Woman

This may come to many fans as a weird decision, but Warner Bros. has announced plans to release a separate movie with Wonder Woman, a spin-off of the upcoming “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.”

The weird thing about it is the fact that when Gal Gadot was announced as the next Wonder Woman, the majority of fans reacted negatively, saying that she didn't have the body type necessary for the role, being too thin and frail, whereas the comic book version of the character was strong and fit.

Warner Bros. is pushing for a Wonder Woman spin-off, regardless of initial fan reactions

Both the studio and Gadot herself cast the criticism aside and forged ahead with the movie. We have already had the first photos of Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman and many have admitted that she doesn't look half bad.

But the general consensus is still that Warner Bros. should not have greenlit a separate movie. The studio is keen to recreate the DC Comics universe, bringing Marvel’s creations on screen and creating complicated links between movies, characters and plots, in a way that has never been seen before in cinema.

The Flash, Aquaman and Shazam are all getting spin-off movies

But that's not the only spin-off Warner is planning, according to The Mirror. There are two more separate movies in the works, apart from the Superman and Batman series of movies. One solo project is going to star The Flash as played by Ezra Miller, and the other will be about Aquaman, who will be played by Jason Momoa by all accounts.

Of course, it's worth noting at this point that recently, Dwayne Johnson announced that he was going to do his own superhero movie based on the story of the DC Comics character Shazam. This movie and the Aquaman movie will reportedly be released in 2019.

Finally, the studio also plans a Green Lantern reboot in 2020. To that, you can add separate films for Batman and Superman in the future, after the Justice League story has been told.

Gadot has said that she's been on a fierce physical regime since she was cast for the part, aiming to bulk up for the film. While she may not have packed lots of muscle in the process, her latest photos show her a bit heavier after all that martial arts training, sword fighting and weightlifting.

Her casting in the Wonder Woman film has already opened some big doors in Hollywood for her, since the 29-year-old actress has announced that she is now in negotiations for a part in Ben-Hur, the new adaptation of the Lew Wallace 1880 novel.
