The other day, some hours after the release of the second trailer for Disney “Star Wars: The Force Awakens,” when movie buffs were expecting no more surprises, the first trailer for Warner Bros.’ “Batman V. Superman: Dawn of Justice” leaked online.

The quality was very bad, as the video was shot in a movie theater and had Portuguese subtitles. Still, it was good enough for fans of the DC Comics cinematic universe because it offered them the first look at a movie that’s been keeping them guessing for over 2 years.

Strangely, Warners didn’t pull the leaked versions for hours, even after everybody online had seen it and was talking about it on social media and dedicated forums. Then, quietly, it released the official version, still days ahead of the announced released in select IMAX theaters.

You can find it below.

So yes, Superman is the villain in this film, as the very people he wants to protect will turn against him for the damage he’s caused to the city at the end of “Man of Steel.” Apparently, it’s up to Batman to bring him to justice, but that will mean coming out of self-imposed retirement.

Thanks to the superior quality of the official release, you can also hear Jesse Eisenberg’s voice as Lex Luthor in the voiceover, urging the people to turn against the “False God” that is Superman. You can also hear Jeremy Irons’ Alfred trying to motivate Bruce Wayne into taking up the Batsuit again.

“Batman V. Superman: Dawn of Justice” will be out in theaters in March 2016. It’s directed by Zack Snyder, with Christopher Nolan serving as producer, and stars Henry Cavill, Affleck, Eisenberg, Amy Adams, Gal Gadot and Irons.
