14 DAY TRIAL // The development team at Blizzard says that it will announce the official launch date for the Warlords of Draenor expansion for World of Warcraft and will reveal the opening cinematic for the title on August 14 of this year in a special event which will be held in a theater and will also be streamed online for players all around the world.
The official blog post states, “Join Blizzard’s Mike Morhaime, Chris Metzen, and World of Warcraft designers Ion Hazzikostas and Brian Holinka for the grand unveiling, streamed live from the Ace Theatre in Los Angeles. But that’s not all—we’ll also host a live interview with the WoW developers, announce the Warlords of Draenor launch date, and debut the first episode of a new animated lore mini-series: Lords of War.”
On Thursday, August 14, at 9:30 AM Pacific Daylight Time, all interested players can go to the Ace Theater in order to get a seat, on a first come first served basis, and the reward for their persistence will be a key which will allow them to access the beta for Warlords of Draenor.
Blizzard adds, “Please note: World of Warcraft is rated T for Teen; some content on display at the event may not be suitable for children ages of 12 or younger. Anyone 12 years of age or under must be accompanied by an adult.”
Warlords of Draenor for World of Warcraft is set to arrive before the end of the year and is just the latest expansion for the MMO.
Gamers will be able to travel back to the Outland, the original home of the Orc faction, and experience it as it was before a major catastrophe destroyed it.
The new content will also introduce a range of new mechanics for guilds and will give gamers more high level content to experience, including new raids.
Blizzard is also preparing to deliver a major patch for the game, which will improve the overall balance and will eliminate problems that the community has been reporting.
It will also be interesting to see how the animated series called Lords of War will slot into the wider lore of World of Warcraft.
The MMO is one of the few in the world that can still ask players to pay a monthly subscription and still maintain a big fan base, despite the fact that it has been shrinking somewhat in the last year.
