Classes and content

Mythic Entertainment, the developers of Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning, are delivering the biggest update of the game yet in December. The 1.1 patch will be offering a lot of new content and, of course, fixes for the people who got into the Warhammer themed MMO.

Two fresh character classes will be added. The Dark Elf Black Guard and the Empire Knight of the Blazing Sun will be playable, increasing the number of classes in the game. This will be good news for those gamers who have already maxed out their level and are looking for other challenges.

The developers are also taking a close look at the Realm versus Realm aspect of the game. There will be better gear, more items and higher quality drops from those battles and open world Realm versus Realm battles will get more rewards for those players who take part in them. An Influence system tied to those battles is in the works, similar to the Influence gained from the Public Quest system of the MMO.

Those who are more interested in Player versus environment will also get new quest chains, Lairs and Tome of Knowledge unlocks, which are basically Achievements.

Mythic is also set to offer players a chance to move from servers which are over or under populated to medium populated ones. The idea is that moving some of the players around, free of charge, will create more balanced server population, which means that lines to get into Public Quests will likely be shorter after the patch is launched.

These big changes will be accompanied by smaller fixes and balance modifications, which are pretty much standard in all MMO patches that are launched. Mythic is also trying to make the game more playable on lower end PCs.

No clear date has been set for the game but we're betting on rather early in December.
