The 10-day limit is traded in for a new level cap

A lot of massively multiplayer online role-playing games have tried all sorts of new ideas to promote themselves. It's time for Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning to seek to bring new players and it has managed to come up with a pretty decent and tempting offer. The ten-day free trial the MMORPG has had up until now has morphed into an endless free trial. But that doesn't mean the title has become free to play either, and it's not micro-transaction-based, as many might believe. The free-trial characters will have to settle for a lesser level cap.

Even if the trial limits the players' level at 10, there seems to be no limitation on the races and classes. All characters will be available, but with the mentioned maximum level barrier. Players will be able to venture into the Empire vs. Chaos maps of Nordland and Norsca, but also to explore the newly added first-tier dungeon, Hunter’s Vale.

The PvP scenarios of Nordenwatch, Khaine’s Embrace and Gates of Ekrun, are also open for “business.” A special New User Journey feature has also been introduced that will offer more elaborate tutorials and a “new player” guild.

Jeff Hickman, executive producer of Mythic Entertainment, said that, “With the introduction of the endless free trial and streaming client, we are making it easier than ever for a new player to join the WAR.”

He further added that, “We’ve worked hard to create a more informative and community driven new user experience, and now we are giving players an unlimited amount of time to explore the early parts of the game at their own pace. We are confident that players new and old will find all the enhancements we’ve made to WAR over the past year worthy of their time and commitment.” All in all, this is probably the best idea so far of promoting an MMORPG, especially for the casual players that can't afford to put ten straight days into exploring the game.
