Warhammer players ought to know that the game's developers are “turning off the ability to apply one month subscriptions and game time codes to Warhammer Online accounts and removing the ability to open new Warhammer Online accounts.” It is, as they call it, a “partying gift.”

The decision was made in order to give Warhammer Online “a proper sendoff.” Therefore, the game is being opened free of charge to all those that have or had an account starting October 31, 2013. So, one can see that, from now on, no new player sign-ups are being accepted.

Moreover, they will be adding NPCs to the game so that gamers can power up their characters and other unique experiences. The devs want to give users the possibility to say goodbye to Warhammer in the best possible way.

One can notice the team's enthusiasm as they have said “please join us and help say goodbye to Warhammer Online in one last big WAAAGH.”

Furthermore, game time purchases as well as new subscriptions have also been disabled as Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning goes offline soon, on December 18.

Players that are interested in games from one of Warhammer's original designers, Mark Jacobs, should check out his indie MMO project called Camelot Unchained.
