Developer Fatshark has released a brand new video teaser for the upcoming Warhammer: End Times Vermintide, showing us a glimpse of the action in the game.

Vermintide is a cooperative first-person shooter in which players fight against hordes of Skaven, terrifying rat-men.

The newly released video shows the game in action for the first time since its announcement last month, offering us a dynamic look at how the conflict will go down.

The footage highlights the streets of Ubersriek, which will be soon overrun with Skaven, showing the heroes trying to warn the guards of the incoming tide of vermin.

The video offers a sneak peek at some of the classes available to players in the game, including a warrior wielding a two-handed hammer, a thief who dual wields daggers and also employs pistols, and a ranger who uses deadly arrows to take down his enemies.

Developer Fatshark wants to offer Warhammer fans a completely new perspective on the fantasy universe, enabling them to experience the adventure through the eyes of the heroes they take into battle.

The team's goal is to stay as close as possible to the source material and the lore of the Warhammer universe, and to create enemies and gameplay mechanics that will prove fun and challenging even to long-term fans.

A new take on Warhammer

The storyline follows the Dark Chaos gods uniting and using their combined strength in order to attack the Empire, suing the Skaven to weaken the faction with an unexpected attack.

The game will offer several areas, such as the underhalls of the Under Empire and the top of the Magnus Tower, which players will have to protect from the enemy hordes.

Warhammer: End Times Vermintide will allow users to choose from five different heroes, each of which is designed to enable a certain kind of play style.

For the time being, there is no information regarding the types of game modes or whether or not gamers will be able to enjoy the game on their own, with computer-controlled partners.

In any case, the mix of first-person melee combat and shooting mechanics is bound to offer a pretty exciting experience.
