Back in June, THQ announced that Sony's PSP was getting Warhammer 40,000: Squad Command. Gameplay features along with multiplayer game modes sounded great and PSP owners started to become interested in this fast-paced game, combining turn-based strategy and action genre elements. As such, THQ has decided to roll out a demo for it, which, by pure chance, you can download right HERE.

The official report goes a little something like this: Today heralds the start of an intergalactic war the likes of which has never been seen before. Players will be thrust into the heart of the action as they don the legendary armor of the Ultramarines Chapter of Space Marines and fight for their way through this challenging demo for upcoming Sony PSP title Warhammer 40,000: Squad Command. This PSP demo will be available to download from from Friday the 26th October.

THQ has confirmed back in June that there will also be a great multiplayer mode within the full game, featuring 9 missions (all different), in which gamers will team up and go head-to-head with other gamers worldwide as either the Imperium of Man or Chaos Space Marines. So basically, Warhammer 40,000: Squad Command will utilize the PSP's functionality to the max.

Main Features confirmed for the full game include:

■ Compelling single player game consisting of 13 unique missions ■ 9 unique multiplayer maps for Local or Global games, with small, medium and large map variants to cater for games from 2 to 8 players ■ Fully destructible, real time 3D battlefields mean that no two games will be the same ■ Pick from two Space Marine chapters or two Chaos Space Marine Legions to play as in Multiplayer games, in battles between Imperium vs. Imperium, Forces of Chaos vs. Forces of Chaos, or Imperium vs. Forces of Chaos ■ Over 20 ranged and close combat weapons taken directly from the Warhammer 40,000 universe, including the Bolter, Plasma Gun, Chainsword and Power Fist

THQ is also responsible for titles such as Worms Open Warfare, for Sony's handheld, or Juiced: Hot Import Nights, for the PC. These two have also seen a free demo release over the last month. As for the full version of Warhammer 40,000: Squad Command, it will be available at retailers for both Nintendo's DS and Sony's PSP in November.
