Digital Extremes has released another content update for free-to-play third-person shooter Warframe, adding a slew of social features to the game.

The new update adds Orbital Relays to its solar system, brand new locations that function as social hubs where players can meet each other, hang out and chat, adding a touch of MMO feel to Warframe.

This is similar to Bungie's Destiny, where the hub area that people gravitate towards adds a layer of massively multiplayer online game interaction, by having a sort of central city where players can get together and visit non-playable characters such as traders who buy your trash and sell you legendary loot.

The Orbital Relays have a hangar where you can dock your Liset, after which you'll be able to interact with the mysterious Baro Ki'Teer, the Void Trader. He sells rare artifacts in exchange for Orokin Ducats, which you can acquire by selling your unneeded Prime items to one of the Ducat Kiosks in the Relay.

The floating cities are also home to the Syndicate leaders, with The Arbiters of Hexis, the Cephalon Suda, the New Loka, the Perrin Sequence, the Red Veil and the Steel Meridian each being represented in their own enclave.

Improved Syndicate interaction

Players will be able to earn standing with each of them by presenting the Syndicate Medallions collected while running Syndicate Missions, and then acquired exclusive Augment Mods.

In addition to this, players will also be able to visit Darvo's Market on the second level of the North Wing of the Relay, and take in a view of the depths of space and modify their loadouts in the Mission Control room, also located in the North Wing of the Relay.

The Relays are available on Mercury, Saturn and Pluto.

Warframe is currently available on PC, on the Xbox One computer entertainment system from Microsoft, and on the PlayStation 4 home console from Sony.
