Medal of Honor: Warfighter, the first-person shooter created by Danger Close and published by Electronic Arts, has managed to end the long reign that FIFA 13, the football simulation from EA Sports, has enjoyed at the top of the video game chart in the United Kingdom.

According to data from UKIE, Medal of Honor: Warfighter took first spot during its first week on sales, despite the fact that it was only offered in the country for three days, which shows that the game has strong sales potential despite the problems that forced the developers to deliver a big day-one patch.

FIFA 13 might be down, but it is not out and slides down into second place in the top ten, which makes it uniquely positioned for a return to the top after the big launches of the fall end.

The last place on the podium was taken over by Forza Horizon, a new racing game that Microsoft has published exclusively on the Xbox 360, another new entry in the long-running franchise that uses more arcade mechanics.

Skylanders Giants, the new line that mixes video games and toys from Activision, has managed to lose just two places during its second week on sale in order to land in fourth.

Dishonored, the stealth action title from Arkane Studios and Bethesda, also stands its ground well and is now placed in fifth place, coming from third during the previous seven-day period.

Just Dance 4, from Ubisoft, follows what seems to be a trend in order to drop two places to land in sixth, followed by Professor Layton and the Miracle Mask, from Nintendo, translates its new entry status into seventh place finish in the United Kingdom.

Moshi Monsters: Moshlings Theme Park from Mind Candy is another new entry in eight while Doom 3 BFG is in ninth.

The United Kingdom top ten is closed down by Resident Evil 6 from Capcom.
