Crytek's multiplayer team-based first-person shooter Warface entered open beta for all Xbox Live Gold subscribers, as a free download for the Xbox 360 home entertainment system.

Warface entered a limited beta last month on the Xbox 360, and the open beta will carry over three versus modes from the closed one, featuring several maps, plus two co-op settings with multiple mission types and difficulties.

The developers have promised a steady stream of new content, settings and modes, in order to keep players entertained and offer them variety. In addition to this, new daily missions built for both beginners and experts will make sure that Warface will always present a fun challenge.

As Crytek is aware of the fact that many players will try out Warface for the first time, they offered some helpful tips to make sure everyone can hold their own against players with closed beta experience.

As such, in Versus games it's of utmost importance to be fast and utilize your chosen class to its full extent, placing deadly traps with the Engineer or keeping your health and damage ratio in check with the Medic.

In co-op, it all depends on the difficulty and map selected, as the game revolves more around each player's individual skill set and how it relates to the overall team tactics, with constant communication between team members being the key to success.

As far as class selection goes, a well-balanced team has a much higher chance of emerging victorious on the battlefield. Medics can keep other team members alive, Riflemen can push through large groups of enemies and supply their teammates with ammo, Engineers can restore armor or place deadly traps and snipers can take out key enemies from far away positions.

Aside from team balance, players have to make sure their play styles are also in correlation, and Xbox Live's voice over IP functionality will come in handy when promoting tactical team play, making sure than the team stays close together and everything goes according to plan.

Being a beta test, Crytek encourages players to send any and all feedback they deem necessary their way, in order to make Warface a better product and provide a better online experience. The development team aims to incorporate whatever good ideas they come across, as their goal is to bring forth the best free-to-play experience possible.

Warface is also available on PC since October last year, via GFACE, Crytek's gaming and social platform.
